To train for his role in Troy, Brad Pitt told interviewer Paul Fischer, "I started out about six months ahead, going in."
"It was four meals a day of protein and low-carb, it was quitting smoking, and it was two, three hours in the gym, getting to a point of absolute discomfort." He gained about 10 pounds of muscle -- just what he needed to do to be buff and brawny for the film.
Of the regime, he adds, "After three months, I finally started to enjoy it."
