Well, I was tired of waiting for the weight to come off by eating right and exercising. Months ago I had tried it for a month and nothing moved. It really discouraged me.
Then one day I was flipping through a magazine and I saw an article about the South Beach Diet claiming that people lose between 8-14 lbs within two weeks. I had to try it, I could do anything for two weeks.
On the first day I lost one pound, on the second two. I lost a total of 7 lbs in the 2 weeks. This was awesome for me since I hadn't seen this sort of weight loss in long time. I had also heard that vegetarians lose weight slower on the low carb diets for various reasons. So far I've lost 10 lbs.
While I still indulge in carbs, I have reduced them a lot and I've also reduced my daily caloric intake.
